I live with my husband and two young children and am passionate about offering individualized care to women in our rural community. As a Lead Maternity Carer, I enjoy working with families throughout pregnancy, labour, birth, and the postnatal period in Gore and surrounding areas. My goal is to empower women to make informed choices that ensure the best possible experience for both Mum and baby. I support waterbirth and primary birth in Gore, and for complicated pregnancies, I facilitate birth at Southland Hospital. The role of your Lead Maternity Carer is crucial to your childbirth experience. Primary Health services are essential in our rural communities, and as one of the midwives in Invercargill, I can refer you to additional health professionals as needed for the best health and care for you and your baby. I offer midwifery services in Gore and the neighboring districts, with access agreements at Gore and Southland hospitals, as well as home births. With over a decade of experience, I believe midwifery is unique in that we support whānau during pregnancy by sharing knowledge, respect, and information. A successful pregnancy and birth involve understanding your options, being your own decision maker, and having a strong support team to help you access the information you need. I do not provide one size fits all midwifery care. I am constantly learning and educating myself, including working towards my Masters of Midwifery currently. I support home births, water births, and births at Gore Maternity, mainly for returning whānau.
